About Lark
When was Lark founded?
Lark was founded in 2021.
How did Lark come into being?
When Lark's cofounders were having random small talk about toothpaste ingredients one night, they had no idea where it would lead them (this may or may not have been after a drunken binge). What began as banter and laughter over how to pronounce diethanolamine and carrageenan evolved into a much larger mission to create non-toxic oral care.
Who founded Lark?
Our co-founders Josh and Valery have always been especially passionate about two things: solving problems and the environment. After examining the wasteful packaging and harmful chemicals that went into making traditional toothpaste and mouthwash they took matters into their own hands. The oral care industry was due for an upgrade. That's when they set out to build Lark, a new way to brush for a new generation- utilizing clean ingredients only and sustainable packaging to ensure the cleanest brushing experience for both your mouth and mother nature.

Our hero products -mouthwash and toothpaste tablets are manufactured in the U.K according to strict GMP standards.

Bamboo toothbrush
How is Lark different from other bamboo toothbrush brands?
97% of the toothbrush is bio-degradable bar the bristles which are made of BPA free and toxic free nylon.
Our bamboo🎍is ethically sourced from groves that manage their forests, according to strict Forest Stewardship Council (FSC) guidelines.
The bristles are professional dentist formulated and of a medium firm texture optimizing for effective plaque and tartar removal without damaging your gums or enamel
Tapered bristles ensuring easy access into hard-to-reach areas
The outer end of the brush is smooth, antimicrobial, water coated and odor resistant.
The brush comes enboxed in a recyclable and compostable kraft paper box, Texts are printed using low impact dyes.
How long does a bamboo toothbrush, take to decompose?
Our bamboo toothbrush handle is bio-degradable and takes about 3-6 months to degrade.
What are your toothbrushes made of?
Our toothbrushes are made from sustainably sourced moso bamboo
Why we chose moso as our prime building block?
🌱 Zero pesticides: Bamboo does not require any pesticides or chemical fertilizers for healthy growth.
💨 CO2 Neutral: Moso outperforms all other bamboos and hardwood varieties in carbon dioxide absorption and oxygen production.
🐼No Starving Pandas: Giant pandas don't eat moso bamboo rather opting for species like arrow. By choosing moso as a raw product we don't endanger the livelihoods of pandas.
♾️ Endless Resource: Annual harvest of mature stems does not harm the mother plant.
📈 Rapid Regeneration: Moso is the most rapidly growing plant on the planet. It grows at an amazing speed of about 1 meter daily.
Can I use the toothbrushes if I wear braces?
Yes, our toothbrushes are safe to use if you wear braces.
How should I store the toothbrushes and how long do they last?
Store upright in a rack or tumbler to ensure the brush dries out.
Most dental practitioners recommend replacing your toothbrush every 3 months or when bristles start to fray.
How do I dispose of a bamboo toothbrush?
To properly dispose of your bamboo toothbrush you can use pliers to remove the nylon bristles and throw them with your plastic recycling, you can toss the bamboo handle in a home/ industrial compost and it will naturally bio-degrade
Do your products come wrapped in plastic?
Our products do not come with any plastic wraps or packaging. Yippee!

What ingredients are in your toothpaste tabs?
Vanilla Extract, Xylitol, Calcium Phosphate, Calcium Stearate, Stevia, Soap Bark
Do Lark toothpaste tabs contain or use palm oil?
Our toothpaste tabs do not contain palm oil.
Can I use your toothpaste during pregnancy?
Yes, our toothpaste is safe to use during pregnancy. Many users have expressed preferring it compared to traditional toothpaste thanks to its muted mint flavor that doesn't cause nausea.
Are Lark products vegan, cruelty free and gluten free?
Yes, all our oral care offerings are vegan, cruelty free and gluten free.
Can I swallow Lark toothpaste tabs?
While our toothpaste is made from all-natural ingredients it's not advised to swallow given it contains fluoride. If you swallow a small amount, it's generally safe. But if you've consumed too much, it may increase fluoride levels in your blood supply and result in an upset stomach, vomiting, and nausea.
Can I use Lark toothpaste tabs with braces?
Yes, you can use our toothpaste tabs with braces.
Why do your tabs have fluoride?
The benefits of fluoride for teeth are endless. Fluoride is essential in the fight against cavities.
Flouride can:
Prevent cavities
Strengthen weakened tooth enamel
Reverse early tooth decay
Limit the growth of oral bacteria
Inhibit the demineralization process
For whom are the tabs with fluoride suitable, for whom without fluoride?
Generally, we recommend fluoride for all people who want to protect their teeth from caries.
Mouthwash tabs
What are the directions for use?
Drop one or two tablets into a tumbler of water, approximately 20ml. Allow the tablets to fully dissolve and fizz which shouldn't take no more than 2 minutes at room temperature. Take a mouthful, rinse the solution around your teeth and gums for up to 30 seconds and spit out.
Suitable for both prophylaxis home use, or as a mouth rinse during or after dental treatments.
How many times a day should I use mouthwash?
You can use our mouthwash once or twice daily after meals.
Are mouthwash tabs safe for kids?
Yes, our mouthwash tabs are safe for kids, simply drop a tab in water, let it dissolve, fizz and then let them gargle away.
Is your mouthwash alcohol free?
Yes, our mouthwash is alcohol free.

How do I take care of my mouthwash tabs?
Please store tabs dry, away from moisture. If possible, transfer tabs to an airtight glass jar or container once received.

What is your return/ exchange policy?
We have a 30-day return policy, which means you have a 30 window after receiving your item to request a return. We accept all refunds and returns on the basis that the product you ordered didn't arrive at all or is defective.
What are your shipping options?
We offer free worldwide shipping on all orders $20+ and $5 standard shipping globally. For mainland China shoppers all orders above 80 yuan come with free shipping.
When will I receive my order?
All orders are processed within 24 hours and shipping takes 3-10 days depending on where in the world you're based.
How can I track my order?
You can find our tracking page in our store footer. Just type in the tracking code that came with your order confirmation email to know where in the world your package currently is.

How do I make changes to an order I’ve already placed?
The majority of our orders are processed instantly through an automated system, if you would like to amend an order you've already made please email us hello@joinlark.com as soon as possible. The total cost of an order is updated as the order is edited. If the cost of the order changes, then we will charge or refund you the cost difference.

Why are your toothbrushes made in China?
Moso bamboo (Phyllostachys edulis) the main building block of our toothbrushes is a temperate species of bamboo timber that is native to China. Sourcing and manufacturing locally equates to increased operational efficiency through reduced costs and waste.
